What difference does print quality make?

If you're anything like me, you want a photographic print to be detailed, rich, and durable. The scanning method, printing technique, and paper type can make or break a photograph, no matter how pretty it looks on screen.

Smaller Prints

Any print that is smaller than 16.5 inches tall is one that I produce at my home office. I use a Canon Prograf IPF5000 in combination with a 190gsm or higher matte luster photopaper for best results. I am able to print 16.5 inches by up to 100 feet wide with this unit.

Larger Prints

As prints get larger, image resolution can become more important. For images larger than 16.5 inches tall I rely on the pros at Universal Color in New Hope Minnesota. They start by drumscanning my film slides to produce the highest quality output. Their skills and equipment allow me to achieve beautiful prints at very large sizes.

Custom Prints

If you have a specific size, layout, or media in mind, it is likely we can come up with something that will make you smile. Combination prints and a variety of mounting options are possible. Email me with any questions.
